Strengths

There is one thing that you can guarantee about Hansbrough's play on the court, he will always be working, hustling, and leaving it all on the court. He is extremely intense and determined on the court, which makes up for his shortcomings. Hansbrough is a hard-nosed competitor and has a "win" and "never give up" mentality.

Physically, Hansbrough is very strong with excellent hands and can firmly plant himself in the post. He has some nice low block moves that are very refined and effective. Hansbrough has the intangibles in his favor that many teams like.

Because of the type of game he plays, it's contact galore for Hansbrough and he is able to both finish and get to the line consistently. Unlike some typical big men, Hansbrough can convert at the charity stripe at a good rate. He can also outrun most big men down the floor and finish on a fastbreak.

Weaknesses

Hansbrough isn't the most athletically-gifted and lacks explosion. He also doesn't have the physical tools to be a great shotblocker despite his size and desire. Hansbrough is more of a catch and shoot player in that he cannot create a shot for himself by driving towards the basket or to free himself in the box. He doesn't have the ball-handling skills to do so.

Hansbrough is not quick moving side to side and in the NBA that can be a detriment on defensive assignments. How much non-stop effort translates to the next level will depend on what expectations a team might have for Hansbrough, but he seems to be more of a great college player that is okay at the NBA level.
