It's NBA Finals time and only one team can be the NBA champions. Find out what the Cleveland Cavaliers have to do to take it all, as well as a focus on a few players, and finally a prediction from Cleveland native, Scott Sargent. Guess who he's picking.
Whos Been Hot: Well, theres this LeBron James guy. Apparently, he had a 48 point game including 25 straight just something I heard about through the grapevine. Id be remiss if I didnt mention Daniel "Boobie" Gibson. The kid had a huge 21-point game 4 after having to step up for an injured Larry Hughes. After Detroit fans took the "well, hell never do that again" attitude, he did it again. His career-high 31 points in Game Six including 5-for-5 from 3-point land was a huge reason why Im even getting the honor of contributing this preview.
Whos Been Cold: The abovementioned Hughes has been awful since having a decent first series. His shooting woes have led to reduced minutes and his recent foot injury will not help matters much. First runner-up would have to be Sasha Pavlovic who has had some shooting struggles of his own. He did snag nine rebounds in Game Five against the Detroit Pistons, but a nine point average despite 31 minutes per game is unacceptable at this point.
The X-Factor: Factor? Free-throw shooting. Its no secret that Tim Duncan is not the greatest free-throw shooter. In fact, the San Antonio Spurs team average for the season was 76% - a few ticks above the Cavaliers 74%. However, James and Gibson have been getting to the line a ton as of late. James is 32-42 while Gibson was a sick 30-33 over the past three games. Coincidence that the Cavaliers won said contests? I think not.
