2008 NBA Mock Draft
About College Basketball Guide, Charlie Zegers and I teamed up to conduct a mock draft for 2008's NBA Draft coming up in June. The mock was conducted on April 9th using the standings at the time as our draft order. A lot of the picks were made on speculation in regards to which underclassmen are coming out and which are staying in school, so come back some time after April 27, the last day for underclassmen to declare and stay in the 2008 NBA draft.
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets were a charter team in the American Basketball Association, starting with the name the Denver Rockets. From its inception, the Nuggets were a high-powered offensive team, which continued into their existence in the National Basketball Association after the ABA/NBA merger. Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors began as the Philadelphia Warriors of the Basketball Association of America. The team was relocated to San Francisco in 1962, but played home games in Oakland as well after the Oakland Coliseum Arena opened. The team name was changed to the Golden State Warriors for the 1971-72 season and that year they played almost all of their home games in Oakland.

Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers entered the NBA in 1970 as an expansion team. Up until the last few years, they were a perennial playoff team, but in rebuilding mode as of now.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards started as the Chicago Packers in 1961, but changed their team name to the Zephyrs in 1962. At the end of the season, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland and became the Baltimore Bullets. In 1973, the team moved to Landover and became the Capital Bullets, then the Washington Bullets the next season. Due to the violent association, the mascot name was changed to the Wizards in 1995.
New Jersey Nets
The New Jersey Nets franchise has its roots traced back to the American Basketball Association in 1967 and was originally known as the New Jersey Americans. They eventually changed their name to the Nets to rhyme with the baseball Mets and the football Jets, teams that also played in the Long Island area at the time. They joined the NBA in 1976 as part of the ABA/NBA merger.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers started as the Buffalo Braves, joining the league 1970 along with the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers. They moved to San Diego in 1978 before settling into their current home of Los Angeles in 1984.

Detroit Pistons
